Built by FE, for FE
FEDataSync isn’t software designed in isolation. It’s built from nearly 20 years of practical experience inside UK further education, informed by the day-to-day realities of colleges.

A note from the founder
Hello, I’m Ben Sonoiki
For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked within the further education sector in England, holding a variety of roles including business intelligence analyst, developer, data specialist and previously as an IT teacher. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with student records systems, reporting platforms, funding systems, admissions processes, marketing teams and college leadership.
One challenge I’ve seen repeatedly is the difficulty colleges face when trying to connect their internal systems with third-party platforms such as HubSpot and other CRM or communication tools. The technical connection itself is often only part of the problem.
The data is only useful if it stays accurate
The bigger challenge is making sure the data held within those third-party systems stays accurate, up to date and aligned with the college’s source of truth.
Too often, a snapshot of data is exported into a third-party platform and then gradually becomes out of date. A learner changes their contact details. Consent is withdrawn. An application status changes. A learner withdraws. In the most sensitive cases, a learner may sadly pass away, yet outdated information remains within a third-party system because the data is no longer synchronised with the college’s internal records.
The consequences can be serious. Colleges can inadvertently send communications using outdated consent information, contact learners who should no longer receive communications, or create distressing situations when inaccurate data remains within external systems.
FEDataSync was created to solve these problems.
My goal was to build a solution that removes much of the technical complexity traditionally associated with integrations, while helping colleges stay confident that the data held within third-party systems remains accurate, current and aligned with their internal records.
FEDataSync is designed around a simple principle
The college’s internal systems should remain the source of truth, while connected systems stay synchronised automatically.
Every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed
Beyond my professional role, I’ve always been passionate about supporting young people and helping learners achieve their full potential. I continue to volunteer extensively outside of work, serving in youth leadership and mentoring roles within my local community. Throughout my career, whether as an IT teacher, developer, business intelligence analyst or volunteer youth leader, one belief has remained constant: every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed.
I’m particularly passionate about making sure learners receive the support they need to achieve their goals, regardless of their background, circumstances, characteristics or additional support needs. Technology should help remove barriers, not create them. That belief has shaped my approach to data, systems and digital solutions throughout my career.
Having worked extensively with college data, reporting systems and student information systems, I understand the importance of data quality, compliance, consent management and operational efficiency. Every feature within FEDataSync is influenced by real experiences and real challenges encountered within the further education sector.
This isn’t software designed in isolation.
It’s software built from practical experience, informed by the day-to-day realities of colleges, and created to help reduce risk, improve data quality, save valuable staff time and ultimately support better outcomes for learners.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about FEDataSync. I hope it helps your organisation create more connected, accurate and reliable data processes, while letting staff focus on what matters most: supporting learners and helping them succeed.
